SoilIQ ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights. SoilIQ requires no account — there is no registration, no login, and no user database.

Information We Collect

SoilIQ collects only the minimum information necessary to provide the service:

• Location data — Your GPS coordinates are used to fetch soil temperature forecasts from Open-Meteo. Location is used only during an active fetch and is never stored on our servers or shared beyond what is necessary for the API request.
• Saved locations — Any locations you save (farm fields, addresses, etc.) are stored locally on your device using iOS standard storage. They are not uploaded to any server.
• Field journal entries — Notes, photos, planting dates, and observations you log are stored locally on your device only. They are not transmitted to any server.
• Probe calibration data — If you enter soil thermometer readings for probe calibration, these are stored locally on your device.
• Notification preferences — Your notification schedule and alert settings are stored locally on your device.

How We Use Your Information

• To fetch real-time soil temperature and 14-day forecast data for your location from Open-Meteo
• To calculate planting windows, soil health scores, and frost risk for your local conditions
• To power home screen widgets and Lock Screen data via iOS App Groups (on-device only)
• To send push notifications you have explicitly configured (planting alerts, frost warnings)

We do not sell, trade, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties for marketing purposes. We have no advertising partners.

Third-Party Services

SoilIQ uses the following third-party services:

• Open-Meteo — Provides weather and soil temperature forecast data. Your approximate GPS coordinates are sent to their API to retrieve local forecasts. See Open-Meteo's terms. Open-Meteo does not receive any identifying information beyond coordinates.
• Apple StoreKit — Pro subscription billing is handled entirely by Apple. SoilIQ does not receive or store your payment information. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Apple Maps — Used for place name search when saving locations. Governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Data Storage

All SoilIQ data is stored locally on your device using iOS standard storage (UserDefaults, on-device file system, and App Groups for widget sharing). We do not operate a cloud database, user account system, or any server that stores your personal data or location history.

Children's Privacy

SoilIQ is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Your Rights

You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at hello@soiliq.app. You can revoke location permission at any time in iOS Settings.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the app. Continued use of SoilIQ after changes constitutes acceptance.
